Australian Aborigines

The Aborigines are the native people of Australia.
Today, there aren’t so many Aborigines as in 1788.
1788 came the white people from Europe. They took the country for themselves. So the Aborigines had to work very hard.
Two hundred years ago, there were about 500.000 to a million Aborigines in Australia. 1920 there were only 60.000 native people there. Australia becomes a British colony.
But today there lives again 450.000 native people.

Ideas from the Aborigines are boomerangs. The Australian Aboriginal music is a Didgeridoo. Thousands of years ago, Aborigines invent it.

Today, the most Aborigines live in the north territory of Australia.

The Aboriginal religion is based on the Dreaming. They think that they were in a dream.

About 40% of the traditional Australian Aborigines are unemployed. So, much of them went to the supports of big cities.
