Titel: Dead Poets Society - Inhaltsangabe zu Kapitel 1-6

Hallo,

Dead Poets Society – Summary Cap. 1-6

The story “Dead Poets Society”, written by Nancy H. Kleinbaum, is placed in 1959. It took place at the preparatory school Welton Academy which is an old boys elite school.
The story begin with a speech, spoken by the headmaster Dean Nolan, about the four pillars of the school. That are “discipline”, “honor”, “tradition” and “excellence”.
One of the new students at school is Todd Anderson.
During the first day, the boys get some extracurricular activities. Neil, a class mate of Todd, should do the school annual but his father has the opinion that Neil takes too many extracurricular activities, so he forbid him to do the annual.
The teachers at Welton are very strict expect for the new English teacher Mr. John Keating. His lessons impress the students. He teach them “Carpe Diem” which means “Seize the day”.
One day, Knox, another class mate, is invited to an eating from a friend of his father. There he sees the very good-looking girl Chris and he fell in love with her but she has already a boyfriend, the son of the friend of his father.
At last, Neil found an old school annual with an article about Mr. Keating. He was at Welton, too, and at his time he was a good pupil and a member of a club called “Dead Poets Society” which is a secret underground organization. Mr. Keating says that they read out poems in a cave near to the school and the aim is to “sucking the marrow out of life”. The boys decide to meet in the cave, too.

Vielen Dank schon mal!

Moin!

Mr. Keating explains (klingt besser) that they read out poems, in a cave near to the school and the aim is to “sucking the marrow out of life”. The boys decide to meet in the cave, too.
